Living Our Purpose

Laney has been involved with providing dinners for Community First for over 7 years! She brought the whole Back Office Drafting team down to serve dinner to our formerly homeless friends. We served a German buffet along with laughs, tears, and a whole lot of love. Back Office Drafting was lucky to be able to love on our friends and in turn they gave us a whole lot of love back! We also toured the property and learned about the different housing opportunities for our friends and different opportunities to work with dignity. It was truly our pleasure getting to fill bellies and spend time with some wonderful humans.  

The Back Office Drafting team had the amazing opportunity to get together from all over the country and engage in a team-building and service retreat this year. We were lucky enough to be able to assist our friends at Safe in Austin in tasks necessary for the safety of their rescue animals, and their visitors. They are a sanctuary that rescues animals from severe abuse or neglect. The animals provide healing and hope to trauma, at-risk, and/or special needs people, these are the animals who triumph and inspire worldwide.    

 The Tampa Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center is one of 5 facilities in the country designed to provide intensive rehabilitative care to Veterans and Servicemembers who experienced severe injuries (including brain injuries) to more than one organ system.  

While the Polytrauma Center is at the forefront of cutting-edge medical treatments, nothing replaces the small comforts of home. So in November of 2020, and December 2021, Back Office Drafting packed boxes for each bed in the Polytrauma Center and sent items to encourage their recovery and provide some comfort and joy. 

7 years ago we heard some young children in East Austin talking...

"Did you get your backpack for school yet??"

"Well I saw one I liked at Walmart but my dad said 'not today."

As a parent we know 'not today' meant that the parent had to tell his child no because they didn't have the money for a backpack.

Every kid deserves a fresh start to a new school year - hopefully, a backpack full of new supplies will help them walk into school with confidence and possibilities. 

 Safe in Austin is a sanctuary that rescues animals from severe abuse or neglect.

The animals provide healing and hope to trauma, at-risk, and/or special needs people.

Our team picked animals whose stories resonated with them to share. And as a company,  we decided to donate a portion of our proceeds in June 2021 to support SAFE in Austin.

 The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations.
