Open Role

Estate Plan Drafting Paralegal (Advanced)

About you

You’re not just any paralegal. Your analytical prowess, proactive nature, and obsession with details have earned you the honorary title “The Estate Whisperer.” You’re not afraid to dive headfirst into complex plans or new technical concepts, and when it comes to writing custom legal language, you do it with the finesse of a chef crafting the perfect soufflé.

But it’s not all about legalese for you. No, you see estate planning as the art and science of preserving family legacies. You enjoy unfolding the stories within each person’s wishes—how they choose to be remembered and who and how they consider their loved ones. Plus, you’ve got sky-high standards. You take immense pride in your work and prefer teammates who share your passion for excellence.

About the role

We’re on the lookout for contract paralegals with advanced drafting skills to join our network. The work is project-based, and the schedule is tailored to your preference and availability, ranging from 30 to 45 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Masterfully navigate popular drafting software such as Wealth Counsel, Elder Counsel, Foretrust, Adapt, and Interactive Legal to efficiently accomplish plan design

  • Draft a variety of estate plans and ancillaries just what the doctor…er, attorney.. ordered.

  • Apply your detective lens to identify and solve for complex distribution puzzles, unique family dynamics, and the interplay of various provisions.

  • Craft custom legal language when standard provisions won’t cut it.

  • Nail attorney-specific formatting and style preferences—think fonts, margins, and document organization.

  • Collaborate proactively with team members to problem-solve, gather missing info, and keep the workflow moving along.

  • Share knowledge and support fellow paralegals.

Qualifications

  • A rock-solid understanding of estate planning concepts and practices.

  • At least three years’ experience crafting estate plans in an environment necessitating critical legal thinking

  • Advanced proficiency in at least one of the drafting software listed above (bonus points if you can work your magic with all of them).

  • The set-up and ability to work remotely, focused and free from distractions.

  • Consistency in your schedule and availability.

  • A knack for juggling multiple projects and steadfast commitment to meeting deadlines.

  • A can-do attitude, turning challenges into opportunities for greatness.

  • Passion for learning and hunger for personal and professional growth.

  • Unwavering integrity and confidentiality.

Next steps

If this resonates with you, shoot us a message with your resume and a cover letter answering these three questions:

  1. Why does this role appeal to you?

  2. How does your experience stack up against the job specs?

  3. Share an estate plan story that left you feeling (chuckling, teary-eyed, inspired… your choice).

We’re all about diversity and inclusion (that’s what makes our team such a powerhouse!)
